What does a cPanel licence actually cost?
cPanel is licensed per server, and the tier you need is decided by how many hosting accounts that server holds. Put your account count in and see the yearly figure, next to a licence that does not count accounts at all.
cPanel’s published tiers cover a fixed number of accounts each: Solo is $29.99 a month for 1 account, Admin $35.99 for up to 5, Pro $53.99 for up to 30 and Premier $69.99 for up to 100. Past 100 accounts you stay on Premier and add $0.49 per month for every additional account. That last step is what makes cPanel a per-account cost in practice: on a busy shared-hosting box, each new customer you sign raises the licence bill.
Vanta Panel is priced the other way round — $10 per server per month, with unlimited hosting accounts, mailboxes and databases. The yearly licence cost of a server is $120 whether it holds 12 accounts or 1,200, and a single account on a single server is free. The calculator below is just that arithmetic, run side by side.

No thumb on the scale
The cPanel column uses cPanel’s own published list price for the cheapest tier that covers the account count you entered, multiplied by your server count and by twelve. Above 100 accounts it adds cPanel’s $0.49 per additional account. It does not assume a discount you might have negotiated, and it does not add anything cPanel does not charge.
The Vanta Panel column is $10 per server per month, whatever the account count — there is no account, mailbox or database line item to add, because those are unlimited on the paid tier. One account on one server is the free tier, so it shows $0.
Both columns are licence cost only. You pay for your own VPS either way, and both panels run the same underlying open-source services. The difference is entirely in how the licence is priced: per server, not per account.
